Příbram
Příbram is one of the important Czech mining towns with a long tradition. Its silver and lead mines brought it riches and fame in the Middle Ages. The mining museum is located in the suburb known as Březové Hory. The Holy Mountain (Svatá Hora) pilgrimage site (basilica minor) with its historically valuable architecture (Carlo Lurago) stretches above the city. A unique 450-meter-long covered staircase leads to Svatá Hora, reconstructed in part by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer.
